Karin Oscarson is a meditation teacher and practices mindfulness meditation since 1998. She trained in Swedish massage, reiki and other body work since early 90s and has completed a Yoga teacher training in NYSY studios in Athens. She lives on Amorgos since 1993 where she is running the IRIS centre together with Vasilis Savvas.

 
 

Vasilis Savvas has studied physics at the University of Patras and his special interest for Astronomy begun when he first came to Amorgos in early 80:s. He is practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong with different teachers and styles since 1989. In 1996 he began to teach in Iris centre.

Vagelis Vassalos. Neurophysiologist graduated at UCL, London and acupuncturist from I.C.O.M, Sussex. He has studied Time Therapy (a new approach to psychotherapy) with Manuel Shoch, which he uses in combination with therapeutic body work. He teaches and develops the "Subtle Body Dance" which he bases on Body Contact Improvisation and Chinese traditional arts like Tai Chi and Qigong. Vangelis is based on Amorgos where he works at his applied physiology studio (IAMA), where he also works with the Amorgian herbs.

 
   

Mahan Atma Kaur (Sol Morejon)
was born in Ecuador in 1968. She is a Dipl. psychologist also trained in Karlfried Graaf von Durckheim/s Initiatic therapy and Dr. Roberto Assagioli/s Psychosynthesis Therapy and in Grief Therapy.
Mahan Atma Kaur teaches the Nia technique and classes of Free dance inspired by Gabrielle Roth’s Five Rythms.
She is a Yoga Allience certified teacher in Ashatanga Vinyasa and also teaches Anusara influenced Vinyasa Flow.

Mahan Atma Kaur has studied Tantric Numerology with Dharma Kaur Khalsa and Guridass Singh, direct disciples of Yogi Bhajan, master of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation who brought the knowledge of this thousands years old science to the west in its original form.

 
   

Theodossia Stathi was born in Athens where she started her contemporary dance education which she continued in Brussels. In 2006 she graduated from P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts, Research and Training Studios), the school of Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. Through PARTS she was introduced to Yoga, a practice that gradually grew into her heart. Theodossia sees yoga as a profound way to cleanse the body and the mind and to connect with the divine nature within.
Her love and trust towards yoga took her to India two times, once to an Ashtanga ashram of the Shivanda tradition, outside the holy city of Nasik and once in the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune.
She teaches in Greece and Brussels since 2005.
Through yoga, Theodossia wishes to contribute to the health, flexibility, strength and balance in body and mind and to the peace and clarity of spirit in her students but also to the deepening of her own practice and learning process.

 
 
   

Panagiotis Kontaxakis . Was an athletic champion in Greece for years. He holds the Greek record in track and field for 1988, while he was also applying systematically in his trainings the Chinese yoga, the Tai Chi Chuan, the meditation, the qigong and athletic psychology. Panagiotis began his study and his practice in Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong and meditation in 1983 in Switzerland, New York, Thailand, China, Mongolia, Boston, Los Angeles, Japan, Turkey, Minneapolis, Washington. He began to teach in Greece individually and in groups from 1988. 1992 he opened his GREEK HEALING TAO CENTER which functions until today. In 1993 he was given the international title < Superior instructor > of Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong and meditation after having studied with Master Mantak Tsia for 15 years.He has many other teachers as well and in his center many of their methods, such as push hands and the inner smile, are being teached.

 
 
   
MARIE-PAULE THIJSSEN                  
Marie-Paule Thijssen studied music in the Netherlands.
Her fascination for sound and the human processes continued more 
in a physical and spiritual way.Since 1993 she has been trained in
 Voicework (trademark) by the founder Jean-René Toussaint.
In this work she found the combination of Voice and Body which 
forms a bridge between the inner and outer world.
Beside this, she teaches music to children and gives massages. 
 
 
       
 
   

James McIntyre Bio: Born in Perth, Western Australia, he first began exploring yoga in 1983 and began teaching regular classes in 1993. Presently he gives; Private Tuition/ Therapy, teaches weekly Experienced and Beginners level classes and also conducts a Yoga Therapy class. He has conducted workshops and lectures on both the Theory and Practise behind such subjects as, Pranayama, Yoga Therapy and the Inverted postures and helps train Yoga Teachers for The Fremantle Yoga Centre www.fremantleyoga.com He has travelled to India on 6 occasions and has taught yoga in both Greece and India.
“Personally I have trained in Iyengar, Astanga, Vinyasa and other Yogas and I owe a great debt of gratitude to all my teachers, my main learning comes from getting on-the-mat, practising and experimenting“. Underpinning both his own practice and his teaching is a strong and ever growing interest in the richness and beauty of Traditional Hatha Yoga philosophy and this together with the Indian school of thought, Advaita Vedanta.
James has also completed a 4 year Diploma in Homoeopathy of which he has practised for 18 years. This has added to his knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and health, to which he brings to his classes.

 

 
 
         
   
 Irini Sanikou trained in the Sacred school of Lynn Andrews and she is a member of the 
Sisters of Shields, a circle of women who work on empowering the female energy that 
exists in everybody, an energy that the Mother Earth is in so much need of in these 
times. Irini is also reikimaster, schiatsu teacher, aura soma therapist, tai chi and
qigong teacher and runs the Centre of Irini in Athens .
